Device Integrity is an integrity feature that identifies hidden cheating tools running on a candidate's device during a Screen assessment.
How it works
With Device Integrity enabled, the candidate takes the assessment through the Codility App, a lightweight desktop application for macOS and Windows that checks the device for known cheating tools. The assessment experience inside the app is identical to the standard browser version. Any detections appear in the integrity widget on the candidate report, alongside existing signals like copy-paste activity and tab switching.
The Codility App checks only for the presence of known cheating tools. It does not record the candidate's screen, monitor keystrokes, or collect personal data beyond what the standard Codility assessment already collects.
Enabling Device Integrity
Device Integrity can be configured in two places.:
Apply to Newly Created Assessments:
- Screen > Global Screen Settings.
- In the assessment settings, find the Device Integrity option in the Proctoring section.
-
Enable it to set Device Integrity as the default for all new Screen assessments.
Individual Screen Assessment
- Screen > Create or Edit an Assessment.
- In the settings, scroll to the Proctoring section to find the Device Integrity section.
-
Toggle it on or off to override the default or this assessment.
When enabled, the candidate must download and install the Codility App in order to take the assessment. They cannot complete it in a standard browser.
Reviewing results
After the candidate completes the assessment, open their report and check the integrity widget. It will show whether the candidate took the assessment through the Codility App and whether any external tools were detected during the session.
