We’re happy to announce that we've introduced a new way to enrich your multiple‑choice questions!
You can now attach a Sheet directly to an MCQ task. This makes it easier to:
Test data‑driven thinking (tables, metrics, calculations)
Share richer context (requirements, diagrams, long descriptions)
Keep everything in one place for candidates and reviewers
You can attach Sheets to MCQs from the Task Library and use them in your tests or live interviews.
What does it mean?
Sheets alongside MCQ tasks lets you link an external Sheet (for example, a spreadsheet with data, tables, or requirements) to a multiple‑choice question. Candidates see the Sheet next to the MCQ, so they can easily read, analyze, and answer without switching tabs. The Sheet is read‑only for candidates. They can view it but cannot modify the source file.
Typical use cases include:
Data analysis questions with realistic tables
Product or business case questions based on real metrics
System design / architecture questions with diagrams
Any scenario where the question depends on a non‑trivial amount of structured information
How to add a Sheet to an MCQ task?
You can add or edit the Sheet link while creating or editing an MCQ task in the Task Library.
Step 1: Open or create an MCQ task
Go to your Task Library.
Either:
Create a new MCQ task, or
Open an existing MCQ you want to enrich with a Sheet.
Step 2: Locate the “Sheet URL” field
In the task editing view, you will see a dedicated field for attaching a Sheet (e.g. Sheet URL / Add Sheet section).
Step 3: Paste the Sheet link
Open your Sheet (e.g. Google Sheet or your chosen sheet provider).
Make sure the Sheet is shared in a way that candidates can view it (typically “Anyone with the link can view” or equivalent).
Copy the view link.
Paste the link into the Sheet URL field in the MCQ task editor.
Step 4: Save the MCQ
Click Save to apply your changes. The MCQ in your Task Library is now linked with the Sheet you provided. From now on, whenever you use this task in a test or an interview, candidates will see the Sheet alongside the question.
What do candidates see?
When the candidate starts a Screen or Interview session that includes your MCQ with an attached Sheet, they will see:
The MCQ question and answer options.
The Sheet displayed alongside the question, so they can scroll and inspect its contents while answering.
What are the best practices for using Sheets with MCQs?
To get the most out of this feature, we recommend:
Keep the Sheet focused
Only include the data that is necessary to answer the question. Large, noisy Sheets can distract candidates.Use clear labels and formatting
Use headers, bolded column names, and clear units so candidates can quickly interpret the data.Reference the Sheet clearly in the question
For example: “Using the ‘Revenue by Region’ tab in the Sheet, which of the following statements is correct?”Make access read‑only
Ensure that your sharing settings are set to view only, so candidates can’t accidentally modify source data.Avoid personally identifiable or sensitive data
Use anonymized or synthetic data consistent with your internal data policies.
Editing or removing the Sheet from an MCQ
You can update or remove the Sheet at any time.
Open the MCQ in the Task Library.
In the Sheet URL field:
Paste a new URL to point to a different Sheet, or
Clear the field to remove the Sheet.
Click Save.
Changes apply to future test runs that use this task. In‑progress tests will continue using whatever was active when the test started.
