Skills Intelligence scoring brings skill-level results to Screen assessments and interview, so a report tells you where a candidate sits on a skill, not just whether they passed. Every completed assessment produces per-skill proficiency automatically, with no manual step. The report now has a Skills proficiency section showing:
One row per skill with its category (Language, Skill or Technology) and a proficiency scale,
Three distinct states per skill: reached, not reached, and not achievable in this assessment,
Results per task as well as aggregated across the assessment.
Skills come from ESM tagging on tasks, and definitions are pulled from the ESM taxonomy. Proficiency uses the same bucketing as Skills Intelligence, so a level 3 in Screen means what a level 3 means in Codility Skills Intelligence. Skills appear in the downloaded PDF and on shared report links, and the table supports search, filtering and sorting.
Screen's scoring was a single percentage. It told you whether a candidate passed, not what they could do. A 72% in one assessment was not comparable to a 72% in another, and pass/fail cut-scores discarded the richness of the underlying performance data.
How It Works
For Hiring Managers and Reviewers
Open a completed Screen assessment report. A Skills proficiency section appears alongside the existing score.
Each row is one skill, labelled with its category (Language, Skill or Technology), with a proficiency scale showing the level reached.
The scale distinguishes reached, not reached, and not achievable in this assessment. The distinction does not rely on colour alone. Hover any skill for its definition, sourced from the ESM taxonomy.
Search, filter and sort the table when an assessment covers many skills.
Skills are shown per task as well as aggregated across the assessment, so you can see where a skill was demonstrated.
When downloading the PDF report, every skill is included, not just the first page of the table.
Shared report links now also include the new section too.
When only some tasks in an assessment carry skill tags, the report says so. When none do, it shows an explicit empty state.
For Interviewers
A completed interview containing a library or IDE task shows the same Skills proficiency section on its report and in its PDF.
Interviews support different environment types, and only library tasks carry test cases. Whiteboards, Miro boards, text tasks and free-coding environments score nothing, so the empty state is common rather than exceptional.
Please note that the practice sessions and interviewer demo sessions will produce no skill results.
Interviewer scorecards are unchanged and are not reconciled with these automated results.
Availability
Skills scoring is now in Preview, covering both Screen and interviews. If you're interested in this feature, or you can't see it in your account, please reach out to support@codility.com
Known Limitations in Preview
Only Codility tasks carrying ESM skill tags are scored. Assessments with untagged tasks show partial results or an empty state (SSC or MCP created content).
In interviews, only library and IDE tasks are scorable. Whiteboards, Miro boards, text tasks and free-coding environments produce nothing.
Practice and interviewer demo sessions produce no skill results.
Interviewer scorecards are not reconciled with the automated skill results.
FAQ
Do I need to do anything to get skill results?
No. Results are produced automatically within seconds of evaluation finishing, for any assessment whose tasks carry skill tags.
Why are some skills missing from a report?
Skills are derived from ESM tagging on tasks. If a task carries no tags, it contributes no skills. When only some tasks in an assessment are tagged, the report tells you.
What is the difference between a skill not reached and one not achievable?
Not reached means the candidate did not demonstrate that level. Not achievable means the assessment itself could not test that level.
Do interviews work the same way as Screen?
Same section, same scale, narrower coverage. Only library and IDE tasks are scorable, so many interviews will show the empty state.
Can I compare a candidate against other people who took the same assessment?
Not yet. Benchmark scoring and cohort comparison are being scoped separately.
Does this mix candidate data with employee skills data?
No. Candidate skill data never appears in a CSI read path, and employee data never appears in a Screen or interview report.
