Skills Intelligence applies Codility's validated assessment methodology to your existing workforce, not just candidates. It gives engineering leaders continuous visibility into team capabilities and skill gaps, and gives individual engineers a validated skills profile they can carry through their career. This guide walks you through steps required to get you up to speed as quickly as possible as start using Codility Skills Intelligence.
Before you start
Skills Intelligence is a separate module from Codility's hiring product, so it needs to be visible in your account before anything else here will work.
- Log in as an administrator and look for a Skills section in the left-hand navigation.
- If you don't see it, Skills Intelligence isn't included in your current subscription yet. Contact your Account Manager or support@codility.com to discuss adding the module.

Step 1: Add your users and organise them into teams
Skills Intelligence needs to know who your employees are and how they're grouped before you can send them anything.
- Go to My account → Settings to manage employees and managers.
- Add people one at a time with Invite New User (first name, last name, email, and an optional team), or import up to 100 people at once via CSV (2MB limit; Codility validates fields and blocks duplicate emails).
- You can also use Codility Public API or one of the supported HRIS integrations (Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, BambooHR, and Personio) to add users.
- Anyone not yet assigned to a team lands in Unassigned — you can assign them from there.
- Create and edit teams as needed. Team assignment matters because assessments are sent to teams, not individuals, so someone without a team can't be included in a program yet.

Step 2: Know what to expect as an employee (optional, but worth reading early)
Once people are set up, it's worth understanding what they'll actually see, since you may field questions before your first program even launches. Employees will get an email inviting them to a scheduled assessment; first-time users are also invited to create a profile. From their dashboard they can see upcoming and past assessments, their personal Skill Profile, and where enabled, AI-generated feedback on past attempts.

Step 3: Create your first Flexible Assessment Program
Programs are the current way to organise and run assessments — a Program can contain multiple assessments, and everything rolls up under one initiative.
Work through the five setup tabs:
- Program - name it, set the audience (all employees by default, or specific teams), and optionally set start/end dates.
- Skills - pick the skills, technologies, and languages you want the program to evaluate. This is what drives which tasks get selected.
- Assessments - choose from the Task Library or reuse an existing Screen assessment.
- Default Settings - set the AI assistant, time limits, and proctoring rules that apply across the program.
- Summary - review before saving. Name and audience stay editable afterward.
You can also target specific teams within one program (e.g., Java tasks for backend, Python for data), assign teams at any point rather than only at creation, and either let employees discover the program in the Employee Portal or notify them directly.

Step 4: View your Insights
Once assessments start coming back, this is where the value shows up. All account admins can access Insights.
- Browse the Employees view for a full roster, with search and filtering by name or competency.
- Click into any employee to see their complete skills profile and their assessment history.
- The same rollups are available at the team and organisation level, not just per person.

You're ready to go!
Skills Intelligence is designed to be continuous rather than one-and-done, so plan to revisit Insights regularly and re-run or extend programs as your teams change.
