Programs are the new way to organize and run skills assessments in Skills Intelligence. Instead of configuring everything upfront, Programs let you create a structure first and add participants, schedules, and notifications whenever you're ready.
A Program is a collection of one or more assessments designed to evaluate teams on an ongoing basis. Think of it as the initiative ("Q3 Engineering Skills Review", for example), with individual assessments sitting inside it. This replaces the previous Assessment/Round model with a clearer structure: Program → Assessment.
Creating a Program
To get started, navigate to Skills Intelligence and click Create Program. You'll be prompted to give the program a name and optionally configure:
- Audience: who can see and access the program. By default, programs are visible to all employees. You can limit visibility to specific teams and update this at any time.
- Lifecycle: an optional start date (when assessments become available) and/or an end date (when submissions close). You can leave both fields blank for an always-on program.
- Assessments: one or more assessments to include in the program. Participants, tasks, and schedules are not required at this stage.
Targeting specific teams within an assessment
When adding assessments to a Program, you can narrow each assessment's audience to a specific subset of the Program's teams. For example, you can run a Java assessment for your backend team and a Python assessment for your data team, all within a single Program. There's no need to create separate Programs per discipline.
Participation
Open Programs appear in the Employee Portal, where employees can discover and join assessments without needing an invitation. Employees can also access their Program dashboard directly from email links, where they'll find a dedicated Program Details page with real-time progress metrics.
If you want to notify participants directly, you can do so from the assessment view at any time after creation. You can also assign specific teams to a program and send notifications to those teams or a selected group of employees within them. Adding teams is optional at the time of creation and can be done later.
Existing assessments and rounds
If you've used Skills Intelligence before, your existing assessments map to Programs and your existing Rounds map to Assessments within those programs. Nothing has been lost, and the way assessments work remains the same.
